One of the greatest parts of the MegaTest asset register system is our ability to pull manufactures and equipment reports.
Pulled from this report these power ‘corded’ tools Makita is again our outright leader for a second year, well according to us anyway.
Makita 46%
Hitachi 11%
Bosch 10%
DeWalt 7%
Milwaukee 6%
Ryobi 5%
Black and Decker 4%
Ozito 4%
Metabo 3%
Festool 2%
AEG 2%
Makita and Hitachi are the biggest movers from the report pulled last June with a 7% increase for Makita and a drop of 6% for Hitachi. Equally interesting is the double result for Ozito who lead the way in the job roles where the tools are used heavily and prone to abuse, of course in saying that they seem to perform these jobs impressively well and stand up to the pressure. Funnily enough with having to Test & Tag these tools every 3 months, we have probably doubled the purchase price of some of these cheaper tools.
The drop saw results are close with only 5% gap between Makita on 36% and DeWalt on 31% and Hitachi taking out third on 9%.
Now of course battery powered equipment is a major part of the building and construction toolbox so using the chargers Test & Tag results from the MegaTest report, how do they stack up?
Well Makita again leads the way but this is where Milwaukee stand out with a second place result.
Makita 39%
Milwaukee 19.5%
Hitachi 11%
DeWalt 9.5%
Bosch 7%
Ryobi 6%
AEG 4%
Stanley 2%
Ozito 2%
Extension leads are another category, not surprisingly HPM taking out gold in this category.
HPM 46%
Elto 29%
PDL 5%
Arlec 4%
Master Plug 3%
Ningbo 3%
Other 10%
We know this isn’t very scientific but hey still very interesting statistics.
